Some residents of Asaba, the Delta State capital, have expressed disappointment with the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, over the suspension of its planned nationwide strike.
Those who spoke to AIT, hours after the National Executive of the Nigeria Labour Congress NLC and the Trade Union Congress TUC, suspended their proposed nationwide strike against the increment in fuel pump price and electricity tariffs, the residents described the action as compromise for selfish gains.

At the Asaba Airport, it was business as usual as travellers were seen booking and boarding their flights, apparently moving on with their plans, after the proposed nationwide industrial action was cancelled.
NLC Chairman in the State, Goodluck Ofoburuku while calling on Nigerians to be patient with Labour, assures the body cannot lose focus from its common pursuit.
