Pro-Democracy and Human Rights group, Concerned Nigerians has called for the resignation of President Muhammadu Buhari over his seeming failure to tackle the rising spate of mindless killings in Southern Kaduna.

The group also asked the Governor of Kaduna State, Malam Nasir El-Rufai to also quit his position if he cannot solve the problem.

The group in a press statement issued by Convener Deji Adeyanju said the continued attacks, killings and maiming of Southern Kaduna people by suspected herdsmen without any meaningful intervention from both the Federal and State governments was shocking.

Adeyanju condemned the mindless killing of the indigenous people in Southern Kaduna over the past few weeks.

“All lives matter and we call on the Government of Nigeria and the Governor of Kaduna State, Malam Nasir Elrufai to wake up to their civic responsibility in addressing the killings of civilians and bringing the perpetrators of this dastardly act to justice”, he said.

The human rights group said every citizen in Nigeria has a right to be protected by the government; pointing out that the silence of the state and federal governments regarding the killings in Southern Kaduna speak volumes.
