Rivers State Governor, Nyesom wike has charged Team Rivers contingent to the twentieth National Sports Festival holding in Benin City, the Edo state capital to be good ambassadors of the state at the games.
Governor Wike stated this at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Sports Complex shortly before the athletes left for Benin city.
Represented by the Rivers State Sports Commissioner, Boma Iyaye, Governor Wike commended over four hundred athletes for conducting themselves in an orderly manner while in Camp.
He charged the Team Rivers contingent to go for gold in Benin city,assuring them of a bumper reward on their return.
The Coaches and athletes expressed optimism in doing the state proud in Benin City.

Team Rivers has played second fiddle to Delta State in the last two editions of the national sports festival, only time will tell if the charge by the Rivers State Governor through the sports commissioner, Boma Iyaye will change the narrative.
