The government and other stakeholders have been charged to provide basic sports infrastructure to assist the development of the sector, especially from the grassroots.
A sports enthusiast, Donatus Ejidike, made the call while presenting sets of jerseys to the five Kwara teams that did the state proud at various competitions recently.
He maintained that the government and relevant stakeholders must concentrate on grassroot sports in order to encourage the upcoming stars.
Ejidike stressed further that the provision of sports centres and the encouragement of school sports will engage the youths meaningfully.
