Stakeholders in the Criminal Justice System want certain sections of the Criminal Justice Act of Nigeria expunged for easy dispensation of Justice.

Speaking at a forum in Kaduna on the challenges of the administration of criminal justice in Nigeria, the stakeholders said that justice is denied because some sections of the law do not reflect the current realities.

The administration of the Criminal Justice Act 2015 of Nigeria was enacted to address some challenges militating against the swift dispensation of justice.

However, the provisions have not enhanced speedy dispensation of justice in most cases and sometimes even denied.

In order to address this situation, stakeholders in the administration of the criminal justice system are calling for a review of some sections of the act to foster speedy dispensation of justice.

According to the Chief Justice of Kaduna, Mohammed Bello, everyone must play a role in the speedy dispensation of Justice.

The stakeholders believe that until the processes of the justice system are less cumbersome, the challenges militating against the speedy dispensation of justice in Nigeria will continue to linger.
