It appears the strained relations between Nigeria and Ghana may be far from getting resolved. This is going by the tone of a press statement released by the Ghanian Minister of Information, Kojo Nkrumah.
Though the six-page statement concludes with a paragraph that the Ghanian leader, Nana Akufo-Ado will engage his Nigerian counterpart, Muhammadu Buhari, the other parts – point to what Ghana describes as inaccuracies in the press statement released by the Nigerian Information Minister, Lai Mohammed over the situation faced by Nigerian traders in Ghana.

Recall that the Nigerian Government had recalled its Charge D’ affairs for what the Nigerian Foreign Minster, Geofrey Onyeama called “consultations”
The statement by the Ghana information minister cited Nigeria’s closure of its borders a year ago, and the impact on Ghanian exports, and economy, as an area the Nigerian authorities need to review.
The statement was however silent on when both President Buhari and Akufo-Addo will “engage” on the burning diplomatic issue
