The Ondo State Government has rolled out palliatives to cushion the effect of fuel subsidy removal on ondo residents.
The Commissioner for Finance and Chairman Palliative Strategy and Implementation Committee in the state, Wale Akinterinwa disclosed this on Thursday in Akure, the state capital.
Akinterinwa said pensioners and vulnerable persons across the eighteen Local Government areas of the state would receive N10,000 monthly, beginning from August till December 2023 through Unconditional cash transfers.

The commissioner also disclosed that free shuttle buses would be restored for both students and civil servants in the state.
Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress in Ondo state, Victor Amoko who is also a member of the committee commended the initiative of the Government through the seven billion naira made available to the state for the funding of the palliative initiative.
The committee noted that the Measures put in place specifically targets those directly impacted by the fuel subsidy removal.
