At least two persons have been reportedly killed during an attack by suspected herdsmen on Agasha community in Guma Local Government Area of Benue State.
The two victims were reportedly killed by the attackers who invaded the community at about 11:30pm on Monday and shot sporadically, and injured few others.
Force Commander of Operation Whirl Stroke, Major General Adeyemi Yekini, who confirmed the incident, said that some suspected armed herdsmen infiltrated Agasha in Guma Local Government Area of Benue State and killed two villagers overnight.
He further established that troops tracked the assailants, through some of the nearby communities overnight while other troops deployed at Tomatar across the river also in Guma Local Government Area, blocked the escape route towards Nasarawa State and four of the assailants were killed, with two AK 47 rifles, four magazines, and 65 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition recovered from them.

Yekini added that no casualty was recorded on the part of the troops, stressing that his men are currently on search and destroy operation in the general area.
