Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, has promised to sanction any government official violating the newly passed law on harmonization and administration of revenue being operated in the State.
The Governor gave the warning at the opening ceremony of a two-day tax and revenue summit, in Lafia the state capital.
The new tax law was approved last year and passed into law by the State House of Assembly in December 2020 and with Covid-19; the need to ensure proper revenue collection has become even more crucial.

The Governor called on all hands to be on deck to see to the effective implementation of the harmonization law, stressing that his administration will not tolerate any violation of the law.
The Governor warned officials saddled with the responsibility of tax collection against sharp practices.
The Revenue Board Chairman, Ahmed Mohammed said that under the Sule administration, the board has been able to increase Internally Generated Revenue by 100 percent, with Nasarawa State ranked among the fastest growing States in IGR drive in the country.
