A combined team of Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS) and other security agents have reportedly arrested at least 17 suspected kidnappers loyal to the late Benue militia warlord, Terwase Akwaza, popularly known as Gana.
According to the Security Adviser to Benue State Governor, Paul Hemba, the suspects were responsible for the kidnapping of some Taraba youths last week Wednesday.
Rather than decrease, criminal activities in the Sankera axis of the Benue north east senatorial district, have continued to increase after the killing of the State’s most wanted criminal Terwase Akwaza popularly known as Gana by the military in September last year.
The latest was the abduction of 23 persons along Wukari-Takum road, by some criminal elements reportedly linked to the late dreaded militia.
According to the security adviser 19 people were eventually rescued but 4 others cannot be accounted for about 4 days later.

The bandits arrested in connection with the unfortunate incident, are being profiled by the department of State services DSS from the 93 battalion in Takum Taraba State.
