Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu on Tuesday presented staff of office to twenty nine newly selected traditional rulers in the state.
Addressing the traditional rulers shortly after presenting them with staff authority, Governor Ikpeazu charged them to pay attention to the security and development of their communities.
The Governor who said the traditional institution represents the fourth tier of government asked them to join forces with the government to sensitize their subjects to be abreast of the Covid-19 protocols.

The Commissioner for Local Government & Chieftaincy Affairs, Gabriel Onyendilefu said the event marked the end of the thorough selection process for traditional rulers of autonomous communities whose thrones were left vacant due to death of previous occupants.
Among the twenty nine new traditional rulers is a former head camera unit, Nigerian Television Authority, NTA, Aba, Nnamdi Njoku.
