Ahead of Nigerian, Kamaru Usman’s rematch against Jorge Masvidal on Sunday, Ultimate Fighting Championship, UFC, President, Dana White has stated that a fight event should be staged in Africa in 2022.
Dana was speaking on the side-lines of the rematch tagged UFC 261 which will be held in Jacksonville, Florida.
The American revealed he did not know which country the event will take place in, but believes the fact that there are three UFC champions from the continent means it is now time.

Since UFC 001 was held in Denver, Colorado, in 1993, events have been held in countries including the Czech Republic, South Korea, Brazil and Abu Dhabi – but never anywhere in Africa.
Welterweight champion Usman is known as the Nigerian Nightmare. Middleweight champion Israel Adesanya was also born in Nigeria, while heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou comes from Cameroon.
