The United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund, UNICEF, says it has pre-ordered two billion doses of COVID-19 vaccines, from global manufacturers for Nigeria alone.
Communications Specialist with the UNICEF, Geoffrey Njoku, disclosed this at a conference on Health Journalism and Ethical Considerations, in Goshen, Nasarawa State, North Central Nigeria.

UNICEF said, the reason for the request of such amount of doses, was to ensure every Nigerian has access to the COVID-19 vaccine, when it is satisfied usable.
The UNICEF representative, who however said, about sixty percent of Nigerians still do not believe in the existence of COVID-19, therefore, noted that, Nigeria has a lot of work to do, in convincing the public on the safety of the vaccine, when approved for roll out.
