The United States consulate in Nigeria has confirmed multiple emergency flights to evacuate American citizens out of the country.
In a statement on its official Facebook page, the consulate says the flights will depart from Lagos and Abuja this week.
It advised its citizens not to rush to the airport as they will be contacted directly when their respective flight are ready.
In the meantime, the consulate has told its citizens to be patient and continue to self-isolate, using the term “shelter in place” and await further information.

It has assured that the us department of state remains committed to the welfare of its constituents abroad.
