The usual beehive of activities and fun-seeking, that characterise boxing day was almost absent in most areas visited in Lagos on Saturday, as Nigeria joined the rest of the world to celebrate boxing day, Boxing Day is a day set aside for the exchange of gifts.
Some of the people attributed the low key activities to the downturn in the economy, sequel to the Covid-19 pandemic which impacted negatively on businesses around the world, throughout the year.

Others however called on governments at all levels to harness the diversities in the country, to develop the nation.
