Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma has described politics of ethnicity as counter productive in a society that seeks national development.
Uzodimma made the Appeal at a meeting initiated to broker peace between the northerners living in imo state and indigenes.
It was a gathering of traditional rulers, Fulani leaders, Miyetti Allah, famers, the clergy, security personnels and farmers.
The meeting was targeted towards peace building and coexistence amongst the people.

Governor Uzodimma alongside Governors of Jigawa state, Muhammad Baderu Abubakar and his Kebbi State counterpart, Abubakar Bagudu condemned the rising rate of insecurity in the country which they say is triggered by rumours and false information
Some leaders at the meeting also commended Governor uzodimma for the peace initiative
It is expected that the high powered meeting would nip in the bud any intending unrest between northerners and their hosts in Imo state.
