Against the backdrop of increased violent conflicts over lands, the Governors of two states in Nigeria’ s North East Geo-Political zone met on Wednesday for joint action and solutions.
The meeting was held at the Government House Yola with the governors of the two states, first class emirs and chiefs, religious leaders, security commanders and other relevant key stakeholders in attendance.
The local government areas of Numan, Lamurde and Mayo Belwa have in the recent past battled with cross border conflicts, resulting to loss of lives and properties.
Governor Ahmadu Fintiri believes some farmers in Taraba do encroach on Adamawa lands resulting to the conflicts.
He calls on the border communities in Taraba to support the efforts of Adamawa State government to bring an end to the crises.

The Taraba State Governor Darius Ishaku was represented by his deputy, Haruna Manu.
He says cattle rustling is the major cause of the crises rocking the border communities of the two states with perpetrators operating from across Adamawa territory.
At the end of the meeting, the two states expressed commitment to resolve the disputes.
