VP Osinbajo, Southern, Middle Belt Forum mourn Odumakin

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has expressed shock at the news of the death of the spokesman of the Yoruba socio-political group, Afenifere, Mr. Yinka Odumakin.

The Vice President in a statement signed by his spokesman, Laolu Akande, in Abuja on Saturday, commiserated with his wife, family and associates.

Osinbajo prayed that the Lord God will comfort the family, and bless his memory always.

In a related development, leaders of the Southern and the Middle Belt Forum of Nigeria, have expressed shock and pain at the news of the death of its national secretary and spokesman of Afenifere, Comrade Yinka Odumakin.

In a statement jointly signed by the leaders of the forum, including Chief Edwin Clark, the forum described the late Odumakin as a versatile, cerebral journalist, patriot and a nationalist.

They said his commitment in building a Nigerian State, where fairness, equity and justice reigns, was unparalleled.

The forum said, late Odumakin was a backbone, who in the past few years, worked tirelessly, to give the organization, both national and international visibility, and recognition.

The statement added that Odumakin, also brought clarity and common understanding, to the problems bedeviling the country, aimed at providing timely solutions to them.

The forum noted that the deceased, etched his name in steel, in the anals of Nigerian history, and will therefore, be remembered by all citizens, as one of its greatest citizens ever.

The forum condoled with his wife, Comrade Dr. Joe Okei- Odumakin, the rest of the family and Afenifere as a whole.
