Ebonyi State Governor, Dave Umahi, has called for collective and concerted efforts of all citizens, in order to overcome the current security challenges in the State.
Umahi was speaking when he paid a condolence visit to the people of Ngbo community in Ohaukwu Local Government Area of the state, attacked last week Monday by unknown gunmen.
As the Chief Security Officer of the state, Governor Umahi said he was also in the community himself, to carry out an on-the-spot assessment of the carnage.

While the people of Ebonyi State were still mourning the massacre of innocent residents of Egedegede Community in Ishielu Local Government Area by suspected armed herdsmen, another gruesome killing took place at Umuogudu Akpu -Ngbo Community in Ohaukwu Council Area of the State.
Umahi regretted that the security system in the country has drifted to a point where self protection has become necessary.
The Governor who doubles as the Chairman of the South East Governors’ Forum, however, used the opportunity to correct some wrong impressions concerning the newly formed South East joint security outfit known as EbubeAgu.
The state government believed the attack is linked to the age-long crisis between the Ngbo community of Ebonyi State and their Agila neighbours of Benue State.
