Niger Tornadoes FC is set to float a formidable female team, Tornadoes Queens FC, before January 2027 to give women a sense of belonging in sporting activities, especially football.
Chairman of the club, Abubakar Kuso, revealed this during a strategic Football Stakeholders’ Meeting aimed at fostering unity, collaboration and a shared commitment to the development of football in Niger State.
The meeting brought together football stakeholders from across the state, including officials of the Niger State Football Association, football administrators, coaches, club representatives, supporters and other key stakeholders.
Addressing participants, Kuso emphasised the importance of collective responsibility in repositioning football in Niger State, noting that meaningful progress can only be achieved through unity, cooperation and sustained engagement among all stakeholders.
The Chairman reaffirmed the commitment of the Niger Tornadoes Football Club management to promoting professionalism, grassroots football development, talent discovery and initiatives that will strengthen football across the state.

He also disclosed that arrangements are in top gear to float Tornadoes Queens FC to compete in the women’s league as a way of giving women a sense of belonging in football.
The stakeholders’ meeting provided an opportunity for participants to make meaningful contributions, deliberate on critical issues affecting football, especially those affecting Niger Tornadoes, and agree on practical steps towards moving the game forward.
Tornadoes have so far played five games this season, winning one home game and drawing two. They have played two away games, losing one and drawing the other.
