After several weeks of total blackout in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital occasioned by face-off between the Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company, PHEDC and Ijaw Youth Council, IYC respite has finally come to the way of the residents as both parties have resolve all differences.
The truce brokered by the Bayelsa State Government is however said to have failed to address the pertinent issues that led to the forceful closure of the PHEDC office in Yenagoa in the first place. The issues include the actual amount being owed by consumers on estimated billing and the demand for immediate metering of electricity customers.

The PHEDC Yenagoa office is again open for business after it was shut down by angry IYC members over issues relating to poor power supply and exploitation of electricity consumers in the State.
With the return of PHEDC, it is the desire of many that this translate into improved performance by the power distribution company.
