The public discontent over the Special Anti Robbery Squad SARS in Ughelli Delta state has sparked riots as some youths took to the streets to protest against the special police unit, This is coming amid widespread allegations of extortion, harassment, and extrajudicial killings by SARS, especially of young men in different parts of the country, In recent years, several calls have been made against the alleged extra-judicial activities of operatives of the Special Anti Robbery Squad popularly known as SARS.

Youths in Delta state are threatening to take the law into their hands if nothing is done following the alleged shooting of a yet to be identified man in Ughelli town, Ugheli-North Local Government Area of the State. In a video that ait.live could not independently verify, some youths are seen in vehicles with a coffin tied to it, protesting the alleged shooting to death of a man last Saturday.
But the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP. Onome Onovwakpoyeya while reacting to the brewing crisis, absolves SARS of the reported killing. The victim is said to be receiving treatment.
