A new Commissioner of Police, CP, has been posted to Zamfara State.
He is CP Ayuba Elkana.
Elkana took over from CP Hussain Rabiu, who has been redeployed to head the Imo State Police Command.
The new Commissioner of Police was enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force, on the 3rd of March 1990 as Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police, and was trained at the prestigious Police Academy, Kaduna Annex.
He has worked at several Police Divisions and Commands, among which is the Zamfara State Police Command as Deputy Commissioner of Police, in charge of Operations, until his promotion to the rank of CP.

He was posted to the Force Headquarters, Abuja, as Commissioner of Police, Provost Marshal, and later redeployed to Zamfara State.
The CP while meeting with strategic and tactical commanders of the Police Command, urged them to be alive to their responsibilities, to ensure discipline and professional conduct, for effective service delivery to the public.
CP Ayuba Elkana, called on members of the public, to improve and sustain the already existing synergy between all security agencies, especially, the police, to enable them rid the state of the activities of criminal elements.
