Zamfara State government has again rescued twelve kidnapped victims through the peace initiative.
The Commissioner for Security, Abubakar Dauran, who facilitated the release with security operatives, said the state government is making efforts to bring an end to the current insecurity in the state.
He told Governor Bello Mohammed and the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, that the twelve persons were abducted at Mutunji Village of Maru Local Government, a few weeks ago.
They were handed over to Governor Bello Mohammed at the Government House, Gusau.
Governor Mohammed asked the kidnap victims to thank God for the peace initiative of his administration, which led to their being freed without paying any ransom.

He reiterated his administration’s commitment to continue to apply the carrot and stick approach, to rid the state of banditry activities.
The kidnap victims include five males, five females and two children. They all hail from Mutunji Village of Maru Local Government Area of the state.
Twelve persons were kidnapped from the village, contrary to media reports that 53 were involved.
