The new Zamfara State Commissioner of Police, Abutu Yaro says, the Police under his watch will work hand in hand with the host communities, to promote peace, security, and safety of the people of the state.
He also says that his operational strategy will be, Zamfara First, which means that the police will place the safety and security of the state first, through dedication, commitment, and professionalism, while carrying out its duties.
CP Abutu Yaro made this known, during his maiden press briefing and interaction with journalists at the command’s headquarters in Gusau, the Zamfara State capital.
He also said that the Police will foster synergy on intelligence, with traditional rulers.
The Commissioner of Police, explained that after careful study, he realized that the prevalent security challenges in the state include cattle rustling, banditry, kidnapping, homicide and farmers/herders conflict, among others.

He says this informed the police management team to embark on the review of the existing crime prevention methodologies, to enable it meet the challenges of modern policing and crime prevention in the state.
CP Yaro expressed the command’s combat readiness, determination and total commitment, in partnership with the state government, towards onslaught against vicious crimes and criminals across the state.
CP Yaro, further disclosesd that the command would be driven by fore knowledge, guided by intelligence at operational and tactical levels.
The Chairman of the Nigerian Union of Journalists, NUJ Zamfara state council, Comrade Abdulrazak Kaura, assured the new CP of the union’s support and cooperation in the fight against insecurity in the state.
