A 15-member Special Ad-hoc Committee for monitoring, consultation, and reinforcement of general security architecture has been approved for setup in Zamfara State by Governor Bello Mohammed.
A statement by the governor’s press secretary, Jamilu Illiyasu, said the constitution of the committee followed resolutions reached after a one day security meeting summoned by the governor.
It had traditional rulers, the council of Ulama, heads of security agencies and some senior government officials.

The committee is expected to checkmate the resurgence of armed banditry, kidnapping and other crimes in the state.
The committee has the Emir of Zamfara and Chairman Zamfara State Council of Chiefs, Alhaji Attahiru Ahmed as chairman, while the Commissioner of Police, Usman Nagogo is to serve as the Co-chairman.
