Zamfara State Government says plans are on to decontaminate schools in the 14 local government areas before reopening them for examinations by final year students.
Commissioner for Education, Ibrahim Abdullahi, made this known, while speaking with newsmen on the preparedness for schools reopening across the State.
Abdullahi says, his Ministry is collaborating with the Ministries of Health and Environment, to decontainmate all the schools and to provide personal protective equipment to the students, to safeguard them as well as stem the spread of Coronavirus.
He explains that the State Government is deliberating on the resumption date for the exit classes of JSS 3 and SSS 3.
He says the Government is considering August 4, but has not come up with a definite date for the reopening of the schools.
The Commissioner also reveals that the State Government has introduced 8,000 incentives to encourage and promote girl-child education. He, however, says that Governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle led administration is determined to ensure that every child in the State is enrolled into school, as education is the panacea to poverty eradication and insecurity.
