Zamfara State government says, it is constructing 147 primary healthcare centres in the state in order to safeguard the health of the residents.
The Commissioner for Health in the state, Yahaya Kanoma who revealed this in an exclusive chat with ait.live said the Governor Bello Matawalle led administration is also equipping the twenty-three General Hospitals in the state with medical equipment and ambulances, to serve the health needs of the people, especially the rural dwellers.
He said the rational is to reduce maternal and infant mortality, as well as safeguard the health of the residents of the state.
The health commissioner explained that, though Zamfara State has no fresh case of coronavirus, there is need for residents to observe the health measures against the virus.
He commended residents of the state for their patience, cooperation and support to the state government, in fighting COVID- 19 to a standstill in the state.

The Zamfara State Commissioner for health added that the State government has acquired over two hundred ambulances, as part of enhancing healthcare services.
