The Governor explained that over 30,000 free eye surgeries have been done in the state in the last 15 years in Calabar in partnership with an Indian NGO Tulsi Chanrai Foundation, assuring that, this time it will be in all local government areas.

Some of the traditional rulers and community leaders who came out in their numbers for eye screening commended Governor Ayade for the efforts to improve their sight.

The Governor told the large crowd to report to him through his healthY Commissioner, if anyone ask for payment, explaining that both the screening, surgery and medications are free of charge as Government has paid for all the services.
