No fewer than 20 people have been burnt to death Sunday evening following a fatal accident that occurred in the Tirwun area of the Bauchi State capital.
According to eyewitnesses, the accident occurred when a commercial bus conveying 18 passengers had a head-on collision with another vehicle and caught fire roasting the occupants.
The witnesses said, 20 people in the two vehicles died on the spot, while two survived with serious injuries.
ait.live gathered that some students who were said to be carrying textbooks, but whose identities could not be ascertained, may have been involved in the crash.

The spokesperson of the Bauchi State Police Command, Ahmed Wakili, confirmed the incident to newsmen.
He explained that the corpses of the deceased have been deposited at the mortuary of the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital Bauchi.
He said the survivors are also receiving treatment at the facility.
