The Incumbent Governor of Lagos State and Candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has been returned for a second tenure in office.
The state returning officer and vice-chancellor, the Federal University of Technology Akure, Nike Oladiji who announced the governorship election result says governor Sanwo-Olu pulled a total of seven hundred and sixty- two thousand one hundred and thirty -four votes to beat his closest rival from the Labour Party, Gbadebo Rhodes Vivour who garnered three hundred and twelve thousand three hundred and Twenty-nine votes.

The People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Governorship Candidate Olajide Adediran came third with a total of Sixty-two thousand four hundred and forty-nine votes.
Total number of valid votes at the end of the exercise was one million, one hundred and fifty-five thousand six hundred and seventy-eight Total number of rejected votes was 17,953 while the total number of votes cast was 1,273631.
