Following the deadly attack in Angwan Rukuba, Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State, Nigeria’s Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, has ordered the deployment of additional security assets and intensified operations to restore calm and apprehend those responsible.
The Police High Command says the deployment includes the Deputy Inspector-General of Police in charge of Operations, DIG Umar Nadada, alongside tactical teams, Police Mobile Force units, and intelligence operatives working with other security agencies to stabilise the situation and prevent further violence.

The IGP has also directed all operational commanders to ensure visible policing and sustained engagement with vulnerable communities, as efforts continue to restore normalcy.
Residents are urged to remain calm, vigilant, and cooperate with security agencies by reporting suspicious activities.
