Days after the recent attack on Garkida Town in Adamawa State by suspected Boko Haram terrorists, the damage can be vividly seen as major structures are still smoldering.
The people have kept wondering why there was little or no intervention by the security forces while the attack lasted.

The rage in the voice of the people could have sent a strong message to Governor Ahmadu Fintiri during his on-the-spot assessment to Garkida town in Gombi Local Government Area of the State.
The residents say the attack was organised in a manner as to set ablaze selected prominent structures such as churches, hospitals and residence of some personalities.
The people say, the suspected insurgents also took their time to loot pharmaceutical products and foodstuff.
Brigade Commander of 23 Brigade, Brigadier-General Sani Mohammed said the attack recorded the death of a soldier, with no loss of life of any civilian.
Governor Fintiri after assessing the level of damage, assured the people of the deployment of more vigilante to complement the efforts of the military.
