The Director-General of the Progressives Governors’ Forum, Salihu Lukman, has described the suspension of the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Adams Oshiomhole, as a big opportunity to rebuild the party.
The Progressives Governors’ Forum is the umbrella body for Governors elected under the APC ticket.
Lukman’s statement released on Friday is on the heels of a thickening plot to remove the former Edo State Governor.
Salihu said the party must move fast to invoke provisions of Article 17 (vi) of the party’s constitution which provides that relevant organs must appoint another person to act pending ratification by the national convention or congress.

He challenged the National Executive Committee (NEC), to live up to its responsibilities.
Salihu noted that the party has the window to organize a convention in 2020 as Article 25 A(1) of the APC Constitution states that convention be held once in two years, the last having been held in 2018.
The Forum DG noted that Oshiomole had concentrated on local politics of Edo State to the detriment of other parts of the country.
He advised Oshiomhole to tackle the fundamental problem with his ward 10 Etsako West local Government executive to avoid nullifying any step taken on behalf of the party at the national level.
According to him, the opposition is ready to feast on such illegality.
Salihu called on organs of the party to live up to their responsibilities as the NWC has become ineffective in moving the party forward.
