The Board of Governors of the African Development Bank, AfDB, has officially announced the re-election of Nigeria’s former Minister of Agriculture, Akinwumi Adesina, as President of the financial institution.

Chairperson of the Board, Niale Kaba, who made the announcement, said Adesina received 100% of the votes of all the regional and non-regional members of the Bank to continue in office for another five years.

The newly re-elected AfDB President will begin his new term in office on September 1, 2020.
