President Muhammadu Buhari is holding a security council meeting at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The meeting had in attendance vice-president Yemi Osinbajo and Security chiefs.

The meeting was held at the First Lady Conference Hall following the ongoing upgrading of the Council Chamber.
Others in attendance at the meeting include Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha; Chief of Staff to the President, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari, the Minister of Defence, retired Maj-Gen. Bashir Magashi as well as the National Security Adviser, retired Maj.-Gen. Babagana Monguno (Rtd).
Others are Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Lucky Irabor, Chief of Army Staff; Lieut.-Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru, Chief of Naval Staff; Vice Admiral Awwal Zubairu, Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Ishiaka Oladayo Amoo and the acting Inspector General of Police, Usman Baba.
AIT’s correspondent, Yemi Adebayo, reported that there was no briefing by the service chiefs and the national adviser on the outcome of the meeting.
Sources in the Presidency told ait.live that growing insecurity in the country was discussed extensively and the service chiefs pledged to renew their strategy in the fight against insurgency and banditry.
