The Lagos state government has offered to give free treatment to anybody who reports to any health facility in the state, so as to avoid the situation when some people will sit at home for self-medication due to lack of money and begin to spread the disease.

Professor Abayomi also emphasized the need for all residents to cultivate the habit of regular environmental and personal hygiene so as to prevent another Ebola scenerio that costs many lives in other parts of Africa, even though Lagos state was able to contain it.
