Stakeholders in the Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene Sector, WASH, have called on Nigerians to beware of the new strain of COVID-19 disease which could be more virulent.
Speaking at an advocacy forum in Ado, the Ekiti State capital, the lead expert, Professor Bolaji Aluko, stressed the importance of water and sanitation in checking the spread of the pandemic.
He advised Nigerians to avoid unnecessary risks and assumptions as to the potency and statistics of the virus in Nigeria calling on the government to ensure an adequate supply of water and be proactive.

Professor Aluko, who is also the Coordinator of the State Task Force on Covid-19 in Ekiti State, said the state government has notified business outfits and institutions that another round of aggressive enforcement will commence shortly across the state.
