Cross River State Government in South-South Nigeria says it has distributed over 5,000 Coronavirus personal protective equipment to both private and public hospitals as well as all the linked borders and other sensitive locations across the state.
The State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Betta Edu, made this known in Calabar while briefing reporters on the level of preparedness by the state.

The Health Commissioner said officials of the Ministry had been deployed to the border posts, airport, and motor parks to enlighten the people on the need for personal hygiene and also screen all visitors coming into the state.
The Director-General of the Cross River Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Dr. Janet Ekpeyong, on her part, said all health facilities have been strengthened and well equipped to enhance the prevention of any outbreak of the disease in the State.
The Commissioner listed the equipment as face masks, hand gloves, scrubs, hand sanitizers, and thermometers among others.
