Following the intervention of the Federal Government, the Presidential Task Force on Covid-19, and the Nigeria Centre For Disease Control, NCDC, the Nigerian Medical Association, NMA, Cross River branch has suspended the indefinite withdrawal of medical services across the state.
In a statement issued by the NMA Chairman in the state, Agam Ayuk, and its Secretary, Ezoke Epoke, the resolution at the meeting by the 17-man committee sent by the Presidential Task Force on Covid-19 to resolve all lingering issue with the Cross River Ministry of Health led to the suspension of the strike.
The statement appealed to the citizens of Cross River State to always follow the NCDC Covid-19 guidelines on infections, prevention, and control of the pandemic.
The Association assured of its cooperation with the Federal and State Government in their efforts to contain the spread of the Covid-19 disease.

By this official statement, “All medical doctors in both private and public hospitals in Cross River State are expected to resume to their official duty posts in the state,” the Chairman said.
