Ekiti State Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, says arrangements have been finalised for the activation of a Covid-19 testing centre in the State with a test for Coronavirus expected to commence at the facility before the end of the week.
Dr. Fayemi made this known during an on-the-spot assessment of facilities at the expanded Infectious Disease Unit at the Oba Adejugbe General Hospital in Ado-Ekiti, the state capital.
He explained that the testing centre would help the State test as many people as possible as part of the government’s efforts to contain the spread of Coronavirus in the State.

The Governor, who put the present capacity of the state Covid-19 treatment centre at 10 beds, said there are already10 active patients, while the results of some contacts were being expected. The development, according to him justifies the government’s plan to expand the centre to a 100-bed capacity.
