Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, Sadiya Umar says despite the economic hardship and revenue challenges, Nigeria’s government has succeeded in addressing some of the plights of the poor and vulnerable in the country.
The Minister said this in Kano during flag-off of the grant for rural women project and symbolic disbursement of the funds.
The Minister represented by the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Bashir Alkali says the grant for rural women programme was introduced to sustain the social inclusion agenda of President Buhari’s administration.
Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje said the state Government will empower 1,700 women and youths including people with special needs.

Over 8,000 women benefitted fron the programme in the State.
