The Nigerian Government says it is currently carrying out construction and rehabilitation work on internal roads across 43 tertiary institutions in the country.
The Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, made this known at the handing over of some of the rehabilitated roads at the Federal University of Technology, Akure in Ondo Sate, South-West Nigeria.

The Minister, who was represented by Federal Controller of Works in Ondo State, Olajide Hussein, said the rehabilitation of seven internal roads in the Federal University of Technology, Akure, is an investment in education.
The Minister said the quality of education would be impacted by the quality of infrastructure and learning environment.
The Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor Abiola Fuape, said construction of the internal roads in the institution would ease the stress of students and staff of the school.
It is hoped that the institution will ensure that the road infrastructure is used and maintained properly by students and management of the University.
