Minister of Power, Mamman Saleh says the Federal Government has not made any arrangements for free electricity to Nigerians.
Saleh on his Twitter handle says “NO DECISION has been taken by the Federal Government to provide Nigerians with FREE ELECTRICITY for 2 months. If and when that becomes a reality, it shall be announced officially”. He however assured that the Federal Government is exploring ways to ameliorate any hardship on Nigerians.

The leadership of the National Assembly has hinted of plans to ensure that Nigerians get free electricity supply for 2 months with Distribution Companies aligning themselves to the move only to retract the statement saying it will only be possible if certain conditions are met.
Electricity customers are hoping that as part of paliatives to cushion the hardship brought about by the Coronavirus lockdown free Electricity supply should be provided.
