The former Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Professor Attahiru Jega, has called for restructuring in the country.
Jega says, the agitation by some sections of the country for restructuring should not be ignored by the Federal Government, to have a better country, before the 2023 general elections.
Jega in a paper he presented at a one-day round table discussion on Nigeria’s 4th Republic, and the dilemma of democratisation held in Kano State said that too much power and resources are concentrated in the Federal Government to the disadvantage of the states.
Making a case for restructuring, Professor Jega, said it will bring about stability in the Nigerian federation, and expand the scope of unity in diversity.
