The Governor of Delta State, Ifeanyi Okowa has called on traditional rulers in the state to make land available and affordable to support agriculture programmes in the state.
Okowa made the call at the inauguration of 20 tractors procured by his administration to boost agriculture in the state.
The Governor however said that the tractors should be made available to every farmer and at subsidized rate.
He said the success of the current phase of the programme will further determine commitment to procure more tractors.
Okowa further stressed that beneficiaries of the agriculture scheme must come from the Communities and express gratitude to the Central Bank of Nigeria for its intervention in the agriculture sector.

The Commissioner for Agriculture, Julius Egbedi commended the Governor for his unrelenting efforts in uplifting and initiating different agriculture programmes in the state- especially the Delta State Assisted Mechanization Programme.
