The Senior Staff Quarters of the University of Jos in Plateau State, North-Central Nigeria, came under attack, Friday night by gunmen, who shot dead a lecturer identified as Dr. Nandi Drengkat.
Chairman of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU Dr Lazarus Maigoro, confirmed the incident to AIT in Jos on Saturday.
It was gathered that the gunmen also kidnapped Drengkat’s 6-year-old daughter in the attack.

According to the ASUU Chairman who said he just returned from the University of Jos Staff Quarters where the attack took place, described the incident as unfortunate.
Also confirming the attack, spokesperson of the State Police Command, Gabriel Ubah, said the Commissioner of Police, Edward Egbuka, has visited the Quarters and the Command is already investigating the matter.
