Thousands of Internally Displaced Persons(IDPs) from recent communal clashes in Adamawa and Gombe States have sent a distress call to the Federal Government to quickly come to their aid and put an end to repeated conflicts in the area.

The latest conflict between Lunguda and Waja communities erupted in Gombe State and quickly escalated to Guyuk Local Government Area of Adamawa State with more than 2,000 persons displaced from their ancestral homes.

It’s not the first time the communities of Lunguda and Waja have clashed resulting in massive destruction of property and loss of lives.

The IDPs pleaded with the government to intervene and stop further blood letting.

This was as the Governor of Adamawa State, Ahmadu Fintri, visited the camp promising to ensure the peace-building process between the two warring communities of Lunguda and Waja is vigorously pursued in line with the recommendations of the investigative panel constituted in 2020 by the state government.
