Imo State Government will no longer tolerate misuse of funds accruing to the oil-producing communities in the state.
Governor Hope Uzodinma stated this during a visit to the troubled oil-rich Mmahu community in Ohaji-Egbema Local Government Area of the state.

Uzodimma explained that monies meant for the oil-rich Ohaji-Egbema and Oguta Local Government Areas would henceforth be used to execute projects that have direct impact on the people.
He described as outrageous, the monthly 10 million Naira electricity bill paid to Enugu Electricity Distribution Company, EEDC, by the Imo State Pil-Producing Areas Development Commission.
The government, he assured would look into the issue.
Meanwhile, some residents of the Mmahu community and the traditional ruler, Eze Austin Iwuogu ,cautioned the oil producers to respect the rights of the people.
The Governor visited Mmahu in Ohaji-Egbema following the crisis that erupted between youths of the community and an oil company operating in the area.
