Kano State is gradually witnessing an increase in the usage of face masks among its residents.
The increase in the level of compliance with safety protocols, according to some residents of the state, is due to the Covid-19 Marshals set up by the state government to enforce the usage of face masks.
Following a daily increase in the number of Covid-19 infections in Kano State, the government set up a special marshal unit numbering over 1,000.
The marshals will work closely with health personnel in the state and help to enforce Covid-19 safety protocols.
The residents said it is a welcome development, but want the face masks to be made available for everyone.
Some of the residents also called for more sensitization to address some of the myths surrounding Covid-19.
